Dr Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, expresses his congratulations on the move into the new office building: “Olympus is an innovative company in the healthcare industry, an important partner for research and development in Hamburg and an active member of the Life Science Nord cluster. The building in the Hammerbrook district provides an appealing, modern space for employees and a training center for the application of new medical technologies. The new corporate headquarters is an asset for the district and the whole of Hamburg.”

Constantin Zangemeister, Executive Managing Director for the EMEA Region, is delighted with the completion of this large-scale project: "The Olympus Campus is one of the largest and most modern office buildings in Hamburg. With the new building, we have realized our vision of a future-oriented working environment. The fact that despite the pandemic it can now be occupied with only a very slight delay is a testament to the great commitment of everyone involved. On behalf of Olympus, I would like to thank all project partners, investors, craftspeople and the city of Hamburg for their professional cooperation."

Focusing on the future of work: Modern work environments for employees and customers

Developments during the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated existing trends and demonstrated how important flexible and hybrid work environments are becoming. Olympus prepared for these developments early on: Besides a versatile, creative office environment for activity-based working, the Olympus Campus is also on the cutting edge of technology for increased hybrid collaboration. Combined with enhanced opportunities for mobile working, Olympus can therefore offer its employees many benefits of flexible working methods: “Our aspiration to become a leading global medtech company also means that we are continually seeking innovative solutions for our customers. New ways of working play an important role in this: Our new office environment not only encourages exchange and promotes creative, customer-oriented collaboration for those working on-site, but also with colleagues working from home or at other global locations,” explains Constantin Zangemeister.

New Medical Training Center brings medical technology to life

The Olympus Campus will also be home to the new Olympus Medical Training Center. Both employees and customers will be able to experience medical technology in theory and practice in a state-of-the-art medical training environment to ensure optimal patient care and safety. Over the medium term, additional training sites from the greater Hamburg area will also be centralized here.

Outlook

The completion of the building was affected significantly by the Covid-19 pandemic and conducted in compliance with the most stringent hygienic safety standards. Since July, approximately half of the total workforce has now commenced working on site. “Now that we can offer also our employees the possibility to be vaccinated by our company health service at the Hamburg-Jenfeld site, we are looking forward to experiencing the benefits and shaping the Olympus Campus together very soon,” notes Constantin Zangemeister. “The anticipation of welcoming back all colleagues, customers, partners and new employees is immense.”
